They had already laid the groundwork before the attacks to blame him

My fav little theory is that bin Laden has been dead since Oct-Dec 2001 and the US has been concocting and chasing ghosts around the Middle East for 20+ years now
.5 points away from Trumps approval rating at this time during his tenure
All the stops are coming out.
I feel like this money for "victims" is just gonna go to some guy that's already a millionaire/billionaire, that doesn't even need it.

the "humanitarian aid" is def getting pocketed by some billionaire too
& people still have faith in their government people wonder why we don’t trust them but will turn the other cheek when presented with s*** like this lmao
God saved me from that crash
Double entendre
Could be the first half of a Ye bar
this may come as a surprise but the US government never actually provided proof that bin Laden was involved in 9/11
https://twitter.com/the_wub_/status/1418727652014313473its not well talked about, but to this day there has technically never actually been an official designation of blame by the US government for 9/11. The entire situation regarding 9/11 and intelligence surrounding it is even more murky than JFK stuff, except its so blatant and out in the open it's like they didn't even care about hiding it. Even a quick skim through the "responsibility for 9/11" wikipedia page (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsibility_for_the_September_11_attacks) would make anyone in the right mind into a "conspiracy theorist".
This is extremely disappointing. If that money truly belongs to the afghan people than it should be used to invest in communities that have been destroyed by our occupation
Didn't we give them billions and they surrendered to the Taliban in 24 hours? Giving them all our s***? lol ok.

It’s their money in their bank accounts and they’re in a famine rn
Are you suggesting we put it in the hands of organizations who pocket it at the end of the day

World ain't perfect if it was Afghan wouldn't be ran by terrorists right now. Two way street

Yeah fam the Taliban aren’t any more terrorist than the US government in the eyes of Afghans
I still don’t see why this justifies us allowing people that took non part in the war to starve. Especially because I have friends and family in Afghanistan

Ultimately the people who will suffer most from this decision by the US are not the same people responsible for the Taliban taking power.

I know, it's a s*** situation. but giving money to the Taliban in hopes they disperse it to the people? naw I couldn't agree.

It’s not as simple as you think. It’s not like if the money is returned it’s just going straight in the pockets of Taliban leaders. It was taken from the central bank, which crippled the economy in multiple ways.
“Seizing the central bank funds has brought economic activity to a standstill. People have lost access to money held in banks. Government workers and teachers are going without paychecks. Importers have no access to capital to front the imports. Exporters similarly can’t access capital to keep their businesses operating. The currency, the afghani, has collapsed in value, and inflation is much steeper in Afghanistan than the rest of the world as a result.“
“these conditions have pushed nearly 10 million Afghans to the brink of starvation. To survive, people are burning their furniture and other possessions to stay warm, or selling them for food. While those 20 years of war, an irregularly long drought, and an especially severe winter have set the stage for the crisis, the proximate cause of the Afghan people’s suffering is the seizure of Afghan assets, coupled with sanctions imposed by the United States government.”
