    purple ribbon with another win

sleepy brown should do another solo

what else? oh why did big boi and killer mike not do a duo project ever? that’s the easiest lock of the south

    48 minutes? 😒

who mixed this? pristine lots of cool instrumentation touches on here

    purple ribbon for the win.

but still no scar album 😭

    we the ones

do ya best, sleepy’s harmonies with that rhythm wah wah guitar

    lots of variety 😳

    best features:
    killer mike
cee lo on we the ones

worst feature intentions: cee lo doing that imitation stevie wonder we don’t need that. sounds like demo off in square circle & one of stevies friends sneaks in the studio & sings on top of rhythm track when he’s sick or out of town. 😒

cee lo doesn’t need to emulate he has a great voice. if you are going to do that, call stevie

going to listen again shortly 😎

The Big Boi x Killer Mike album is “supposedly” next.. but with how they like to release solo albums or albums in general in the next 5 years

  • Dec 12, 2021

We The Ones is my fave track. But the whole album is legit.

  • Dec 12, 2021

Lower Case and Doing It are my favorite tracks so far.

  • Dec 12, 2021

Sucka Free and Lower Case are my 2 favorites.

The Scotty ATL record is dope too. And the Sleepy Brown solo joint is so good.

They both have 25 businesses , how the hell are they gonna record a whole lp together? Going to have to record at the kennel & barbershop on the closing hours. 😳

You know what they should do: Dylan has his greatest bootleg series. Dungeon fam should have a series where they go back through the archives and we see what everyone was making that the label said “ this is too much for us”

That’s what needs to be a priority.

Plus southern playa is about to be 30th anniversary.

They can make up for the sus anniversary editions, include a documentary, get some erotic art prints from 3k, unreleased material

30th anniversary could be a worldwide event. Sporting world would get in on it. 😎

There are so many things they can do to make the 30th special.

    2nd spin

anyone else think they intentionally made the songs short so it was a easy transition to radio length?

    it’s 48 minutes 14 songs

    onp knows about this game.

animals should get a edm remix with someone singing with sleepy brown .

so much layering, no one doubt the onp in the lab

i will have to listen to this on headphones, i have a feeling they added so much in the background

what can you say? still the best in atlanta

i know we have people in this forum who don’t know

they never heard anything outside kast.

but they need to know onp worked with curtis mayfield before he died & co-lead bgv singer was mavis staples 🤯

and that was a real collab when curtis had to sing only a few words at a time because he was paralyzed. organized got to work with the chi town master before he went upstairs. and they did a deep collaboration with him. you listen to the lyrics it is like story telling excellence. curtis knew who organized was- he was down with the dirty south. 😳

it’s crazy the level of sounds this team uses. that guitar solo at the intro 😎

Really liked a solid amount of tracks. It’s not game changing or anything but a few songs I’ll have in rotation and add into my Outkast/Dungeon Family playlists for sure.

This is probably a fair summary.

These guys may not be on top of their games anymore, but they're still talented artists who put out quality music worth listening to.

i look at as their representation of commercial music

now that might sound strange to say but - every song is hovering almost 3 n half to 4 minutes -

    there isn’t any harsh language

this is by design- onp aren’t fools

the only thing is- none of onp or big boi like pressing the post button on getting the word out. they will do it every 2 weeks or so, do one interview and call it a day

so the promotion build up is extremely slow. 😒

Yeah the promo hasn't been good enough and all the delays and singles didn't help.

They kinda fumbled but you know they was waiting until they could tour regularly again. Feel like that's where Big Boi makes a lot of his money. Feel like he always touring.

I think Big Boi makes his money with his kennel

Joking aside, they didn't have any bundle for the record. In this day n age, you look at how the rock world puts this s*** together, they crush it with every option under the sun IF they have an established fan base.

Sleepy's name suits him. His last solo project was 06.

BUT Big Boi he puts out a record every 3-4 years since Outkast closed the doors as a duo.

I'm not sure why they didn't do it. But they could've come up with a a deluxe edition.

Could've sold it with some cool merchandise as well. But maybe they see the level of budget and they don't want to spend it. But it wouldn't break them. I'd like to ask them this question. Why do you pull the plug on a record so fast? Most of the fans don't know it is out or even exists. They aren't tuned in to YouTube channel or singles streaming section at their Spotify or Apple.

I really do think Big makes a ton of money touring. Festival season is coming too. I bet he's on a bunch of lineups.

I wish Andre 3000 still had the love for creating bodies of work, like his partner in crime, Big Boi, has.

he probably does in private 😳

there is that funny phone call on qtip’s live show where he calls andre on the phone from a few years ago from the studio.

i forgot what abstract radio mix show that was on

The sample on Can’t Sleep is addicting.

Sucka Free and Recreation are hard.
