I was looking at something to listen to, and saw this album and was like, hmm let me reminisce real quick... and turns out yesterday was the 10 year anniversary
I didn't hate the album , but I see why there wasn't a big special rerelease...
Dark Sky Paradise is the third studio album by American rapper Big Sean. It was released on February 24, 2015, by GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings. The album features guest appearances from Drake, Kanye West, E-40, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Jhené Aiko, Lil Wayne, and Ariana Grande, while the production was handled by a variety of collaborators, including Kanye West, DJ Mustard, DJ Dahi and Key Wane, who also serves as the album's executive producer alongside Big Sean himself. The album was supported by five singles: "I Don't F*** with You", "Paradise", "Blessings", "One Man Can Change the World" and "Play No Games". Dark Sky Paradise received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the change in Sean's production and lyricism being more atmospheric and substance-filled. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, earning 173,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. In August 2020, the album was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Some of my favs were:
Back when we still had normal Kanye Beat and melody is so nice, very nostalgic.
This song is insane. From day one til now it's a college party anthem lmao. And if you don't like the E 40 part, you gotta rethink your life
Insanely stupid Mustard beat. This used to tear up parties too.
this changed your life @sizz
Damn, time flies
I've always had big love for Sean too ever since Finally Famous. I used to hate hearing him on those Wiz tapes, I thought he was corny asl then ig when he got the Kanye cosign I started seeing him in a different light, and I started to appreciate his style
Not a bad song either, there's a few on here that are pretty nice
I don't think people really understand how low the Big Sean stock was after Hall of Fame, people loved Detroit 1 and then he releases Guap as the follow up single which was horrible. Was not well received at all. This is after getting huge placements on Clique and Mercy too.
If DSP was not such a huge album we, don't get I Decided which some argue is his best and has one of his biggest hits ever (Bounce Back). This was a very pivotal album in his career and likely saved it

That’s funny cause Guap got me into Big Sean lol
I remember the singles dropping from this and surprised how it was banger after banger, and how IDFWU dropped as a promo single in a batch of 4 with Paradise being the lead single and wasn’t even intended for the album at first. Lo and behold it was an instant hit
@op Sean’s been teasing something for the 10th anniversary
Shot a video recently…I think we’re gonna get a rerelease or Atleast a song this Friday
Also posted that Vinyl and Merch is coming

When I heard Guap I had to take a break from listening to him for a lil bit...

yea that is fair. I can see why people really like but also why people don't. Bounce Back was everywhere tho it was a huge hit
