This will be my last post as well, but imo this mentality isn't healthy, life and emotions aren't as black and white as you're making them seem.

We may do and say things to people we love in moments of passion and pain, but in no way does that invalidate the love itself. Pretending like it does only makes everything worse, especially if something like this were to happen.

This is coming from someone who has been on both sides of a similar coin. Luckily I haven't experienced this level of pain and loss. I hope to make true amends before I do.
