    when dark sky paradise dropped i worked at a clothing store and my shift was always closing and we were all hip hop fans and the three names we would always talk about were drake, kanye, and big sean he was definitely one of them ones cole, kendrick, and future would be mentioned but not like that

    Nah I feel this. If there was ever a point in time for him to be mentioned in the big 3, it was during Dark Sky Paradise. I don't blame anyone for thinking differently though that was a golden age for the genre and the competition was fierce. It was not as concrete as it it today until a bit later, and he wasn't FIRMLY out of the running until he failed to follow up with a project of similar caliber.

    I actually genuinely enjoyed his music till Hall of Fame and even at that point he was not even anywhere near my top 30

    right like 2014FHD was a great project and is now a classic but Sean had him beat on hits really and to pimp a butterfly is undeniably an amazing album but not everyone connects with it that way so he was still there with them. the problem was i decided was a step down and had a derivative single while cole came out with 4YEO which has slaps on it, Kendrick got a damn Pulizer Prize, Future dropped like 5 great projects, drake became the biggest name in music, travis emerged, sean just didn’t have the juice like he did in 2015
