    Finally Famous - 87k fw

Hall of Fame - 72k fw

Dark Sky Paradise - 173k fw

    Twenty 88 - 44k fw

    I Decided - 151k fw

Double or Nothing - 55k fw

    Detroit 2 - 103k fw

What You Expect - wikipedia doesnt list it

Better Me Than You - 24k fw

He has always been a low seller seller in Fw compared to his peers with only a very few hitting the 100k range. He does have a few plat albums and multi plat songs tho, because his stuff will last and carry through his hits overall throughout the years that will eventually get him plats, and most of his discog is during a time when people were still buying physicals/digitals so they are buying albums for the massive hits by him. It kinda is like a really smaller version of Kendrick, who has always done good with 250k to 350k (and Damn being top 3 with Travis and Drake), but will last a long time consistenly at a constant rate through the year. Outlasting more than other people that will end up multi plat at the end of the year way ahead of every other Rapper, outside of Drake, regardless if a few others had a bigger Fw the same year.

So what I'm saying is that Big Sean was never a big numbers guys especially Fw that are lower on average than most of his relevant peers of the era (like a Meek Mill). He was carried mainly by hits, which he did have more hits than most. Theres a positive and a negative in everything.

This is half a defense and half a hate thread im bi-polar

Detroit mixtape is his classic btw

  • DSP selling 170k with basically all of his biggest hits and features just goes to show the ceiling for him was never that high to begin with and to your point OP

103 to 24 is a pretty bad drop

  • Sure, but 23K is still atrocious. His last album cleared 100K and didn’t have a major hit, it’s not like it did 50K or something

  • Im just confused because 3 of the 5 guys in my group chat listened. Extrapolating this out, we should expect 4,904,893,311 first week sales. What aren’t they telling us?

    This.

If Big Sean was a newbie or a rage rapper like Ken Carson, it'd be respectable.

But Sean is basically an established act at this point and the decline from Detroit is very steep.

Keep in mind that niggas here called Might Delete Later a "flop" and it did way better than this.

  • Nah can't defend 24k I know he and his team are upset about it too...kept pushing it back to try build some hype but it was all a mess

His label ain't gonna push him if he doing that type of numbers

If you dont listen to big sean and i dont listen to big sean where are these magical listeners supposed to come from and why do we have to treat it like sports at all lol. Where is he supposed to get 80k more “album sales” (80000000 streams btw lol) from and what are we supposed to do if he doesnt do that lol

And yall be surprised when artists be like they wanted to kword themselves or overdose lol

    Don't even bother asking

There seems to be some Big Sean defense force on KTT since this flop album

I'm surprised he managed to move anything after like 2015, his style of rap has been non-commercially viable for a while imo. he should be happy with how long he stayed relevant.

I thought he meant drops as in albums but I think he meant drops in sales.

Twenty88 was a collab album so I’m not surprised it didn’t do as well.

They’ll never see it from that parenthesis perspective until Billboard tells them the new way to look at numbers

I would hate to get 36M+ people to listen to my music just for a nigga to tell me I flopped like bruh what?

He’s the last blatantly post Kanye / Graduation specifically (Wale Gambino when he raps and pre hood nigga Drake) rapper standing at his level

  • kinda glad his sales peak is his best album
