Thats less than ice spice but yall gnna gve him less s*** and make more excuses for him
He's talented and can actually rap, something that Ice Spice can't do dumb f***
big Sean been real down on social media
This might be the thing that pushes him over the edge and go into full crash out mode
I prayed on this mans downfall
πππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
This plus the Kanye s*** is probably why he didnβt wanna release it. Probably never imagined it would get here so quickly
I just don't think Sean and his team actually cared about 1st week sales.
If they did, then this is a bizarre, bizarre rollout.
I guessed under 50K, so this wasn't out of the realm of possibility for me.
The album itself is technically sound, but almost purposefully devoid of the typical Sean highs. No slaps, no hitmaka and his stock hooks, no Jhene feature, a really lowkey, low maintenance album which is why it almost feels like he threw in the towel when it came to first week sales on this.
1st Week sales literally don't matter though, but that's a convo for another time.
They fr care about first week lol every artist do...it's a business first and foremost which is why they kept delaying the project tryna put it out at a time where there would be hype but like you said his team mismanaged this
His label will prolly give him less resources or priority now
That could be true but he still really popped off in the 2010s heβs fs associated wit the early 2010s blog era scene at the time and then went mainstream in the same decade too
I thought I was painfully obviously joking
B****** came out Christmas of 2009, yes he's a 2010s rapper
That just means 3.4k copies a day. Not bad by any means. It's 2024 let's stop comparing Sean to the big 3 or the other A-listers. First and foremost it was a great album. Secondly he's not chasing hits. And third no one was comparing Nas numbers to GKMC or NWTS back in 2013. His place is solidified and he's doing what he wants now. That's all he can and should be doing rn. If he was aiming to do big numbers by chasing hits and missing like Rocky I could see the hate being warranted
did you just compare sean to nas
Considering how I still didnβt even listen yet.. yeah
This week was lowkey stacked
really shows u how complex and nuanced carti's new flow is, it can't be replicated
damn it seems like a lot of people didn't check out the album. i get he's not the most liked but that's still kinda surprising to me, people hate-listen to s*** all the time.
Kendrick next
750k first week incoming
imagine gaining 500k in sales (if we are to believe it its authenticity) off the back of The Boy. that second week drop off would be crazy crazy
what makes the album good to you
I had a child recently so hearing the way he talks about fatherhood, the challenges of it, how it affects his current relationships is super relevant to me. Nice to hear someone talk about it from a positive viewpoint
I enjoy his style of rapping but I will admit it has not really changed at all over time. I think the production on this album is great.
I like the self reflection motivational songs but I can see why people would find it boring
In the context of his discography I think its good. I can see why it didn't sell well, and the singles are whatever.
I also don't love every song on here but I enjoy listening to the album as a whole. Not his best work but a nice growth album
