But I don't know what substance you would expect from a love song lol, ofc he had to make it catchy to match the vibe but I appreciate it more than the usual love songs because he doesn't make those type of songs often and you know it comes from a genuine place
Plus it works into the concept of using love as a tool to forgive your enemies like it says in the bible & like his dad forgave Top Dawg and saved his family from destruction (and Kendrick throughout the album is going off at his enemies until the last song and is confused why bad s*** is happening to him )
