This feels like a big step up from Happier Than Ever production wise and a slightly less large step up songwriting wise; it’s still a stronger album on first listen, but I’m missing the way her lyrics cut through and felt so descriptive on the last record.
She’s continuing to make more and more exciting pop, and I’m happy she seems to be largely heading toward experimentalism (Blue just got to its outro beat and hell yes) rather than the pop side. She’s always excelled in her lane, this feels like she’s aiming for a whole other critical audience and really nailing it.
I like Ocean Blvd and Ultraviolence but this album clears by a big margin
oh you’re going to jail
i just find it cringe when artists make a derivative ass foray into a genre and expect people to eat it up because its "different" for them
(shots at Beyonce for that dogshit album she just dropped)
the title is definitely tongue in cheek tho lol it's barely "bossa nova"
i'm pretty sure that i read the title was just the name of the project session and they never changed it
ultra violence my fav lana album that user is SICK
You real for this take đź’ž
ultra violence my fav lana album that user is SICK

I haven’t heard the last two in full but this put my eyes on her musically. Big fan of what I heard on this
Blue last 2 mins
brooklyn baby… generational music
shades of cool brooklyn baby west coast craziest three track run of her discography imo
her last album had hella early lana influence tbh
Would definitely check it out then

You f***ing see it
brooklyn baby… generational music
It’s one of my go to drunk songs
Well
What did you want her to make a laufey type foray into the genre?
i mean if you're gonna go into another genre, I'd prefer you make it your own

i’ve been searching for that high on all her records since and nothing touches… they aren’t bad but Cherry, Dealer, Tulsa Jesus Freak, Doin’ Time scratch that Ultraviolence itch for me
