I think the way we treat people who work in the s***industry is why that happens and less to do with the act of having s***on camera. The empowerment narrative is a silly overcorrection, but the impulse to push that in the first place is to make up for a culture that shames people for one of the most natural human experiences. I’d say sports as an industry is infinitely more exploitive. We’ve literally normalized watching people punch each other in the face for money. There’s no reason why s***as work should be more shameful than that other than for how we in the West feel about s***compared to violence.

I'm not saying this because I think you're arguing in bad faith (quite the opposite actually) or you misunderstand me but just to avoid being misconstrued by anyone in the thread, I don't think s***workers deserve any less than the rest of us in terms of empathy, respect or rights (obviously).

I agree with parts of your post, s***shouldn't be as stigmatized as it's been. There's always jokes about how much gratuitous violence you can show in film or TV but as soon as you show one breast then the film is R rated, and it's true to be honest.

However, I don't agree with the notion that it's just "the act of having s***on camera" though. S***is nothing like p***ography 9 times out of 10 and doing p***ography (especially the kind that's popular nowadays) can do damage to your body/mental health. If you run an onlyfans where you upload nude photos of yourself every day or so, then your mental health/body is probably fine realistically.

However, let's say you recently turned 18 and decide to start doing p***. A lot of the times, people in these situations are being coerced into doing things that are way beyond their boundaries. That's not "the act of having s***on camera", that is being violated.

do you think its gotten more violent in the past few years or so, or just talking about "modern" as in internet-era p***ography?

I feel like 11/12 is a pretty normal age but it really is way too young. P*** is bad maaaan

It’s probably very common but not appropriate at all to be exposed to it at that young

I think that p***ography was on average less outwardly graphic back then than it is nowadays and finding things that were more racy was also harder to obtain (especially for minors, unlike now).

For example, think a kid 40 years ago accidentally finding their dad's playboy magazine vs. a kid in 2021 going on p***hub.

The two just don't even compare in terms of what you can see, in my opinion.

(also this is completely off topic but I just clicked on ur profile and I see u listening to diiv awesome band)

Sorry y'all for bumping this, but even if y'all don't like Billie or think this is weird for a celebrity to say. I really appreciate her for talking about this issue. P*** is not healthy at all or it's a unrealistic overexaggered view of sex. I been struggling with this for so many years, but to hear a huge celeb talk about this gives a me more confidence to let this s*** go.

Now people will debate the usage of it should be moderate, but at the same time, that's difficult to overcome, because the imagery can be stuck in your mind for a good while and create so much twisted sexual fantasies, it just makes you want to keep doing it. Nevertheless, use it at your own risk.

To everyone reading this lmao sorry, just expressing my opinions, Merry Christmas 🎄

Edit: Oh lastly, there needs to be an age restriction on internet p*** and people under 21 needs to have a real ID to watch it. Also all internet p*** sites should charge users to watch it not just Onlyfans.
