Not a “good” movie but certainly will gain a true following compared to other comic book movies. Respect to DC for even putting this out tbh. This and Shazam make Marvel look like the soulless crap it is.

You can dislike marvel and still see dc movies for what they are. This movie was a hodge podge and I wouldn’t say any sequence of it felt full of soul and heart

Marvel cares more about pleasing nerds who need to feel "right" which is why all their movies are so mechanical they actually feel like comic book panels put on screen. Not a diss but DC has consistently taken risks that I would compare to the TV shows they had in the '90s and '00s. Creatively, DC is much more unique than Marvel. You can't say any sequence had soul cause you feel the need to define what "having soul" means. Something either hits you or it doesn't but I was shocked that a comic book movie was made like this.

I liked this movie for what it was. Margot is such a good Harley

It's the first mainstream comic book movie I've seen made entirely outside of a hetero-normative point of view, something that is reflected in both the style and substance of the film. Contrast this with Black Widow or Captain Marvel. Those two still try their hardest to make sure straight men still feel like the movie "includes" them. This film not only blatantly calls out misogyny, but subtly calls out homophobia too by implying the villains are gay. It's not Goodfellas or anything, but considering I've been watching comic book movies my entire life, it's the first one I've seen that actually made an effort to bridge to an entirely new audience.
