Smacked VoodooFor sure, it makes me think of the Kanye song Violent Crimes. I feel like it points out something a lot of men might feel when they become the father of daughters. Some look at having a daughter as "punishment" for how they treated women growing up. Very weird way to look at it.
But back to your point definitely a clear difference between protecting and controlling, but it all goes back to us knowing how men can be towards women. I think it's something all men should recognize and begin working towards correcting so in the future having a daughter won't be seen as a punishment, or fear the responsibility of raising one.
