Watched The US vs. Billie Holiday (Hulu). Lifetime movie type quality. Wouldn't recommend, tbh. Andra Day will most likely be nominated for an Oscar though. She was great.

I was so mad and happy to see this when the OP was teasing this on twitter. I been trying to get my s*** off the ground and I see someone who makes a character similar to mine beat me to it lol.

I'm only 3 episodes in but A Black Lady Sketch Show is hilarious. It's crazy how I've rarely seen any promo for it but I know why.

Any of y’all got BET+, or watch any of the shows on there?

  • May 22, 2021

I don't know who is behind getting all the classic 90's and 00's shows on streaming services but I thank them. I just found out One on One was on Prime Video

I like the subtle cues and creative direction from what's in the trailer. Curious to know exactly what the colors mean particularly yellow, red and blue.

Looks to be a promising debut for Mr. Oyelowo.

I recommend Bigger, it's surprisingly not corny or made by Tyler Perry. Not about poverty or overcoming trauma either. Just black folks existing.

Also Twenties, it's pretty much what I described above but with a lesbian lead.

These three shouldn’t need an introduction! 3 pioneers in the film space: Melvin Van Peebles, Ozzie Davis and Gordon Parks. Take some time and soak up wisdom and stories from pillars of cinema

Great film. The Spook Who Sat By The Door.

Chameleon Street. It was sampled in the intro of Brown Skin Lady by Mos Def n Talib
