For sure that’s what’s crazy about the south

It’s the representation of slavery in the US so a lot of foreigners and liberals like to call it backwards and whatever and in a lot of ways it is but what they don’t understand is that the planned segregation of the north didn’t really exist in the south. Whites and blacks have been living together for centuries down there so while a lotta of them are racist or republican there isn’t the sheer “ignorance” you’ll find in the north. They understand black people and vice versa.

Plus economically a state like georgia for example that has a thriving black middle class, nice suburbs with nothing but black people etc u can never find up north.

It’s an interesting duality. No question black people in atl, houston, North Carolina etc live better lives economically

for me there's such a stigma about living out there as a (black)person in the north. like i've always unconsciously thought that if i were to move into the southeast somewhere that i'd be subject to more racism manifested into violence. but you give a really interesting point
