For the record there's nothing inherently wrong with making a Souls-like game. It's just tryna act like that isn't the case is what's bizarre lol

World of Warcraft drops? A wave of MMORPGs follow tryna capitalize off the popularity.
Call of Duty drops? A wave of fast-paced military shooters follow tryna capitalize off the popularity.

Fortnite blows up? Well we have literally been living through the boom of the battle royale. The same way we been living through the boom of "Souls-like" games with Nioh, Jedi Fallen Order, The Surge, Code Vein, Dead Cells, etc. Mind you a lot of the games are heat, but it's obvious what the inspiration for them was.
