  • FBA - Foundational Black Americans (lineage-based designation that specifically refers to the over 43 million Black Americans who are direct descendants of the Freedmen—the formerly enslaved Black people who were emancipated in the United States. This lineage represents a unique and unbroken connection to the foundational builders of this nation.)

This whole ADOS/FBA versus Africans/Caribbean thing has been a whole thing for a minute. After Shaboozey's grammy speech about immigrants built this country that many felt was erasing the direct work that enslaved black americans did (which imo seems...a bit misguided considering didn't we all come off the boa..nvrmind lmao)

What yall think about this s***? Cause to me, as I guess an "FBA" (the farthest my family tree has gone back to is the Carolinas, Florida, and Georgia, we Geechee Gullah ass niggas frfr) this s*** seems a bit just annoying and hella divisive and most of all counterproductive to any sense of movement.

Proudly being like "fuck pan-africanism" just feels like a slap and a spit in the face of our ancestors from the diaspora including the states that fully believed in a united front between the land and the states.

Yall think these arguments are needed?

Is this just an FBI divide and conquer co-opt type s*** headed by Tariq?

Or is it just a bunch of niggas' trauma response to some problematic Africans dissing them back in the day?

usually this s*** wouldn't urk me but the homie's throwing a black history art show literally highlighting fashion from all the places of blackness (including african americans) and a small vocal group of these niggas are f***ing flipping out online because some of the fashion dares to have dashikis and kente cloth in em.

To be as blunt as possible, how else are repatriations to be paid to the descendants of American slavery if theres no way to distinguish who from who

That’s the only reason I’d co-sign any Ados agenda

My response to that is, "nigga everybody was f***ed up in the game."

Eventually if you go back far enough it's gonna get to the boat.

The reason I always assumed reparations would always be difficult was just...because I don't think these crackers even have enough or wouldn't amount to enough.

Like the Queen Mother Audley Moore proposal of 500 trillion in damages for 25 million descendants back in 1962 is (imo) still underselling to me.

Hundreds of thousands of holocaust survivors rightfully got their reparations.

Hundreds of thousands is still a fraction of millions, I just don't think there's a money value big enough.

i think also african americans specifically have been disrespected by everyone, even their disapora brothers and sisters for far too long

and honestly, for what african americans have done vs how were treated, i don't judge someone for going insane FBA. do i think they bugging yes but also we as a people need more recognition on us having a culture (the most influential one on earth) and despite not knowing where we came from (even though at this point i 1000% consider america home and think its the country my people built because they did) we have been able to move mountains

in reality this is all fueled by white people on twitter starting diaspora wars

  • All I can say is I get it

I think there should be a sense of self awareness of being labeled "African-american" is kind of loaded atp and that there should be a distinction of the ethnic differences
