I think it's more that these sheltered white kids finally have an outlet for their revolutionary fantasies, than that they're actively trying to create division.

    that’s exactly what they’re doing

what sucks is that this just ruins race relations further but they’ll keep doing it because it fits their aesthetic

  • May 31, 2020

    They’re communists

if you asked any dumbass chud on here they'd tell you it's an organised terrorist group where in reality it's not at all that, they're not a centralised group with leaders. It's literally just an ideology of literally being anti fascist who certain people identify under and a lot of those people happen to be edgy white kids.

no member of "antifa" was at those protests btw

  • May 31, 2020

    Antifa means antifascist too

come on my dude you can't really believe no one at antifa was at any of these protests, they literally were claiming it themselves on social media you telling me white supremacists just have antifa gear laying around to dress up in? They're not competent enough to be terrorists, It's just dumbass sheltered white suburban and college kids who want to feel edgy and good about themselves. That's not a controversial statement.

anyone trying to say they're like some ISIS group is dumb obviously, but i don't think it's a controversial statement to say it's full of edgy middle class white kids who get off on power trips from protests and using political symbolism they don't really understand. they're not some "evil communist terror regime" like some dumb right wing pundits want you to believe, sure, but they're also not anything resembling "underground freedom fighters" because of their name just like the cops having the motto "protect and serve" doesn't mean s*** about what they actually do

    I can agree with that

but the fact that currently the president is tweeting that simply being "anti fascist" will have you labeled as a terrorist scares me, no matter what you think of the group and I will agree that a large amount of them are edgy white larpers.

do you think anything will come of it?

Well, i can't really speak but I very much doubt that he/the administration is targeting the term itself as much as people who directly claim to be part of/are caught participating in Antifa. as far as I can guess, because of how insane it would be to enforce, if anything does genuinely come out of it, it'll be a way to tack charges onto people who are arrested. many times they already will run public social media audits on people, and if they see you like/participate in antifa pages or whatever, they'll likely up the arrest charges to be more extreme. I can't imagine it will be more than that.

As far as non-legal results, I think it will result in a lot more extreme political segmentation among political groups. Actual antifa participants will likely feel a lot more emboldened by it, and far right people will also probably see it as a sign that they can do whatever they want against antifa people since they're "terrorists". If anything does come of it being put into law/procedure/etc, I think it'll just cause a significant amount of political stratification with more clear lines being drawn basically
