I wonder what kind of contract she signed with them. Kpop contracts usually last for 7-10 years AFTER they debut ㅠㅠ...

They would be bigger if they focused on Lisa more and did more English songs to promote outside of Korea. They don't look act and prepubescent or look identical enough to capture the attention of the average kpop fans in Korea. Koreans love kpop groups with at least 5+ members of women who act underage and all look nearly identical. Looking unique and standing out is frowned upon in Korea but is big with Southeast Asia and USA.
Imagine if Atlantic or Interscope signed Blackpink with focus on Lisa as the lead and pushed songs with minimal Korean. Maybe drop jisoo and add a brown Filipina member.

When did you get into K-pop?
Can't drop Jisoo, bro. She's there for a reason. Why drop any member when you can add a fifth member?
Also, that part about Koreans wanting K-pop groups with members who look nearly identical isn't true. If you familiarize yourself with other groups, you'd know that they don't really look all that similar to each other. Bubblegum K-pop is prevalent, yes, but Koreans also have a lot of appreciation for songs like "Bad Boy" by Red Velvet.
They don't have to change so much just to appeal to the western world. If anything, that would lessen their overall appeal.
