I don't like the hidden agenda of the media tryna force feed black women/white men interracial relationships on us. I'm not against interracial dating/relationships mind you, I know there's no real way to say that without sounding wrong,but I feel like more than ever we're seeing a sort of narrative being pushed through advertisements, TV, and film.

I know the reality is black men and black women have been getting together more than ever as well as acquiring more money than ever, I guess I just want these writers to tell it like it really is. Black people win together. Of course I know that's something they'll never try and show black people. I just get sick and tired of the narrative of "Black men don't love black women!" "Black men get money and then marry a white woman!" and then the whole "bedwench" dynamic of the black woman/white man relationship. It's disgusting to see, and I feel like it really is being forcefully shoved down our throats more than ever.

i currently live in a predominant white area. im growing my hair out. i get looks and stares. took my braids out a few days ago. went into work and my coworker says that in nursing school they might ask me to cut my hair because its "unprofessional". I see white male nurses with long hair all time. all these girls dye their hair blonde, green, purple, black, etc.

But let a black man grow some dreads and suddenly it's a problem 🙄

Can actually relate to your situation.

Had dreads for 7 years and I also worked around mostly white people. To put it bluntly, white people do not understand black hair and you will be like an alien to most of them lol. I got looks and comments all the time but never anything hateful or at least not to my face

With jobs it depends. I’d be shocked if they didn’t allow you to have long hair as a black male NURSE. But I’ve had jobs where I was technically not supposed to have my hair but nobody complained. And some jobs where they was upfront about it being a no-go. Most jobs are still living in the past with their policies. It’s one issue that still exist unfortunately

I hate how they treat our hair like it's dirty. Like famm your s*** is weak af. Do white ppl ever realize that black hair is literally strength. Like we have to use hair + chemicals to weaken our hair to look "straight" 🙄.
