Yeah it really seems like Yasiin only recorded a few verses that Madlib and Talib were left to set to music. I know his So be it and Tribute/My favorite band verses are at least a decade old.

I don’t even think Madlib works in quick 1-month / 2-month sessions for them to do a part 2, as Bey and Talib have been together a lot this year

I think mainly wasn't properly done. Didn't seem to be a collaborative process like you typically would get

didn't like the rollout/release with the exclusive drop on a podcast app not a lot of ppl care about...the album itself is fine but I agree with others that the collaborative vibe feels off and when you hear those 3 names are working together on an album you just expect more than what we ended up getting with that album...it's still in my top 50 favorites of the year...Kweli brought his A game even though I'm not a big fan of his and even though Yasiin will prly never be where he was in 98-99 lyrically it's still always great hearing new s*** from him
