Didn’t read through this thread so I was a bit taken aback by the style change. Very 90s / futuristic aesthetic heavy on theme and social commentary. I’m digging the ambition but as far as personal taste goes I’m more into your early stuff. Will give this more listens bc it’s unique seems like I need to get it more.

The jazz influence and the breakbeats that pop up every once in a while really keep it fresh.

I definitely feel that in terms of the album being a change of pace, I was thinking about it the other day how the album feels new in sound but also it really retouches a lot of things we’ve already done

Like Modern Happiness is hella Lets Play Sports but defined, same with Motha Urf but then there’s stuff like Killjoy and Love Is A Moshpit feel like we’ve never done it before

I like your favorite song picks, you should definitely keep listening to catch on more to the theme of the album I feel like its honestly the same themes as the albums before especially our first 2 and cyberkiss just more in depth with the presentation

Lyrically that and Killjoy are my best verses on the whole album

Jazz was such a huge influence on this album, our city is a jazz city so the album really feels like home to me

Kinda like what we were doing on the first 2 albums with songs like Wigs, Keep Score, Reasons To Exist, etc i really wanted to get back to those type of songs

Yeah I love how the verses have that Tribe or De La Soul feel and then the hooks tie it together with the indie pop vibe yall have always had.

Modern Happiness and Boys Go 2 Jupiter are some more favs

When it comes to that style of music i only like Tribe , not any of the other groups in that lane, so its crazy i love tribe so much it makes me wanna make that style of music, i really would love to meet Q Tip one day but idk if he would look at it like homage or be like damn nigga yall biting 😭

Modern Happiness i love the bassline and drums on that song, feels like a song from the 80s to me but not in a revivalism way
