But when were indie we used Distrokid. Its best to get a 2 artist account so you can pick release dates and get more customization options. Honestly its worth the cost tbh, sometimes streaming can be annoying about rejecting cover art or song titles so try and upload way in advance to make sure you’re all good, and also for Spotify Playlist submissions you have to submit a month in advance. I never was able to finish a project that early til release so idk how it works but if you get playlisted thats a huge boost. I have a friend named Huron John who released his project indie and submitted to playlist and every song on his album got playlisted lmao, even spotify was like wow this is rare and now he has millions of plays. So u never know

Creative process is I usually come up with the idea for the song and then sit with whoever is gonna produce it and talk them through my idea
After that they make the beat and I usually just write to it could take 10 minutes to do a verse or an hour, I’ll usually have a reference song in my head too
As far as writers block I just keep making s*** and writing til I get something usually writers block happens on beats I dont really like tbh, also whenever I have writers block I really think of what I’d like to write about and listen to some songs about the same topic and focus on how they approached it

Honestly signing to the label has helped a lot
They said it doesn’t happen for every artist but the music has been really connecting at every opportunity which is lucky for us
