A generic drunk retired cop whose most infamous scene is him staring at a screen and saying enhance vs a robot who kills his own kind, conflicted with wanting human connections and learning to accept he's not special. K s***s on deckard in terms of character
K knows he is a replicant wanting to be special, Deckard throughout the movie is coming to the realization he is a replicant
Deckard is a replicant with the memories of the real retired cop Gaff. And that’s the purpose of Gaff leaving unicorns all the time and then Deckard having the dream of a Unicorn.
But 2049 retcons this by bringing him back as human.
Why do you think Blade Runners in the future are replicants themselves. Because Deckard is the prototype.
K shows no emotion the whole movie and has a predictable storyline.
K is carried by Joi
I don't think writing-wise his trajectory is predictable at all and I like how Joi enhances his character by calling him Joe. Guy is an average Joe and that's a cool message, we can't always be the protagonist of a story
Deckard obtains another layer in this movie too by finally meeting his daughter.
i don't see how you can claim to be a fan of Blade Runner and its world yet hate 2049

They retconned Deckard to human in 2049? I can’t remember

He’s old asl I don’t think replicants age
He’s probably doing this to fix things
Can’t blame him
Yeah after that atrocious HBO show he did

The original Blade Runner is a classic but it’s a classic cause it’s a vibe, not because it has amazing characters.

Even though the movie heavily suggests that Deckard is a replicant, it doesn't make sense for Tyrell to give their most advanced replicant to the PD just so he can retire in his 30s

He let Rachel go too
Or maybe he didn’t let either of them go and they both got hunted
unless Ridley is involved idc. this decade of movies and tv is so damn lame.
He is executive producing
It’s crazy how gassed 2049 is on KTT
Y’all swear it’s one of the best movies ever and it cant even hang with the original to a point where it almost ruins the original by bringing Deckard back
naw classic movie but would have been 110/10 without deckard
