But channel orange is his magnum opus and better written
@THE_FILLMORE yes but one is top 3 and the other is top 100
forreal
4th of july is probably the saddest song ever written
frfr cant even listen to em often. ppl think elliott smith makes sad music, which he does, but a crow looked at me and c&l some of the saddest records of all time. devastating s***. its hard to listen to
But channel orange is his magnum opus and better written
imagine believing cO has better writing than blonde
doesnt even have better writing than nU
so how about you enlighten us since your musical tongue is so diverse
It just seems to me that most of these best songwriting threads come from people who only listen a bunch of acclaimed albums and then go with their favorite and I'm pretty sure that's the f***ing case lmao. Not hating on Blonde's songwriting, it's really great and you can make a case but songwriting is that ONE field where you find reeeeally great stuff in the non-mainstream/"underground" scene, especially in folk
Just saying that there's on-par or even better and more sophisticated songwriting out there.

aight bro calm down now
Elaborate what? That rap kiddies hear their first non-rap album and elevate it to high art? I'm going to assume most of this forum are teenagers and were watching Yo Gabba Gabba when Channel Orange came out.
pretty dumb thing to assume that, considering most rap fans are either black people who grew up on soul and stuff alongside rap, or white people who only got into rap in their teens

Donβt have to imagine and lol
ngl I skip pyramids when it comes on shuffle
me too, but thats still one of the best songs of all time still

nigga dumb as f*** thinkin people are only raised on one style of music. thats how u raise school shooters

Yeah too many racial assumptions in this for me to spar with. Not sure what we're arguing about.
But channel orange is his magnum opus and better written
CO is too reliant on cathartic fantasies and lacks an overall strength in it as an album; sure each song is as well-written as Blonde but there is no overarching theme and nothing ties in to the next or last song really
Can agfee

you're saying blonde is many people's first album they listened to that would not be rap
im saying its dumb to assume that considering no one grows up only listening to rap and if someone who only listens to rap their ENTIRE life listens to blonde as their first non rap album they definitely wouldn't enjoy it to the degree that most avid fans of the album do
Seems like Lorde ain't your thing because Melodrama is as acclaimed as Blonde, not really an unpopular opinion outside of KTT
never said that
you cant get more consistent than an album with all great songs tho
also blonde looked at way more favourably with time gone

yeah but nigga you think cO has better songwriting so literally everything you just stated is invalid
also out at not naming a single one :damn2: they critically acclaimed for a reason :mm:

Idk if "many people" is what I'm saying so much as "many of of the teenagers on a rap message board".
Most kids don't grow up listening to albums anymore. Period.

I never said that cO has better songwriting, you must confuse me with somebody. I think Blonde is much better than cO
Yall are f***ing delusional
