They hate black music
nah the the site just used to be dominated by old dadrock dudes but it's clearly transitioning into a much younger+diverse audience. 4/5 of the all-time top 100 are still white bands/artists, but in the 2010s top 100, 4/5 artists are Black.
hip-hop particularly has been steadily rising in the overall charts, over the past two years you can actually watch how the white dadrock canon is increasingly getting overwritten and it's quite beautiful
That said they've always been about diverse genre tastes and respect for more innovative music which is a good foundation to build on.
