I watched the first episode and although I found it visually interesting, the writing didn't exactly amaze me. I need to peep the rest and see how it develops.

Episode 5 is the best one writing and action choreography

Watched the first episode and it wasn't interesting enough for me to continue.

This show is visually interesting, but it's such a weird mix of almost YA writing with graphic violence and needless nudity, not to mention the tired tropes that they stuffed in a blender, and out came this premiere:

You've got the stoic samurai who's unwilling to take on the talky sidekick character, probably the most annoying sidekick I ever encountered, plus is dropped about a third into the episode, made to feel unimportant, only to show up at the final scene, at which point, I haven't cared for anyone in the story. Oh and the main character has a tragic backstory about the color of her eyes, and I found the reactions to her so over the top that I wondered if this was real or just your usual YA Fantasy writing.

You've also got the typical mentor that seems hard but is actually a softie, the cliche training montage with Kill Bill music, a forced marriage b-story, and a couple of bad guys written with such little interest in nuance that they are less like characters and more like caricatures.

Honestly, I'd give this another chance, if the first episode didn't feel like I ate a reheated pizza that I forgot in the microwave six days ago.

my standards aint even high i think so im probably gonna enjoy it

i liked it plenty. even if you find the plot a lil cliche at points, its animated well and the fight scenes are well choreographed

main character reminds me of Jin from Samurai Champloo

Hoping for that S2 announcement soon
