Oh, so now all the colors' lives matter? As if Black lives matter wasn't obnoxious enough, in a month all of the Biden COMMIES are going to be chanting GREEN LIVES MATTER! THIS SOCIALIST FUNNY BUSINESS WILL BE THE END OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I usually try to avoid politics on this site, but this is some food for thought. If someone can claim to support blm but they say they dont support the looting/riots (peaceful protests cool tho), is that in the same vein as someone with a blue lives matter supporter saying they support the police but not the racist cops/killings? Once again, not taking a side here, just wanna hear opinions.
Edit: may have worded this wrong. What i'm tying to say is, I'm sure there are people on both sides that support the core message of the respective movements, but not some of the stuff other members of the movement propogate
Edit 2: probably shouldn't say "both sides" implying that the two groups have to be against each other
The people on the 🔵 side seem to lack an understanding of, or allow the media to tell them another thing is that alot of us aren't necessarily against police officers. Granted, some people on here want to see all of them burn, but some of us just want to see the system that covers them for murder with a different name be at the very least changed, at the most destroyed.
We aren't necessarily anti blue lives, but the majority of them are more anti black lives then pro blue lives and that's where the conflict really lies.

Appreciate the thorough response
Do you think its possible to redeem the current police system where it stands instead of defunding/dismantling it?

Unfortunately I don't really know.
For there to even begin a change, their would have to be a dialogue between both sides. And the side of pro law enforcement would have to unanimously come together and acknowledge that there is an issue of police brutality and police accountability, and I don't know if that'll ever happen. Alot of them like to get wordy and pull out "statistics" to disprove it, rather then listen to the oppressed and try to find an acceptable common ground.
I will say, while alot of things were damaged and severed last summer as a result of the worldwide protests, one of the positives from the entire thing was that it finally opened up the conversation that has been needed to had since the 1980's and the Reagan administration. You went from people getting absolutely furious at even the concept of "kneeling" during the national anthem in 2016 to people actively doing it in 2020 with no opposition aside from some nutty MAGA people.

The core message of blue lives matter is reactionary bullshit
I think everyone unanimously agree blue lives matter in the sense that cops shouldn't be killed in the job but the movement of blue lives matters is just a counter to black lives matter and not wanting to hold police accountable.
Half those people don't actually care about cops
