only the first few tracks wbu
been blasting it since yesterday
atp im still happy they decided to drop another albums on us, but the boys delivered big time. aoty for me. probably not geogaddi/music has the right godlike levels, but on par with their other output. ive listened to it at least 3-4 times already but its still all very overwhelming

ayy im glad to hear it, I really liked what I heard so far I just had it on vacuuming and it wasn't a good mesh at that moment I needa get fried for this and just let it sink
First thoughts, SPOILERS:
There's stuff here that's some of their best ever, with a really disturbing feeling that I can only liken to close-up photography of insects, the sound design is really unique and strange. The album works best when it's in a more ambient textural mode, or in a more experimental sound collage mode, but there are quite a few samey tracks that use what I can only describe as 'radiator bass' that I'm not so into on first listen. It feels a bit like some tracks have a real conceptual purpose to them but others are essentially groove experiments. I think these could easily grow on me though. I do wish the concept was a bit more threaded throughout though. There's some absolutely stunning beauty and don't-listen-in-the-dark horror here, glad they came back, this is some good stuff overall, and most definitely a very new direction from them.

I know exactly what you mean when you say the photography of insects and radiator bass things lmao. Just starting my second listen after a listening party earlier and I have to say it feels like a serious return to form from Tomorrow's Harvest and a surprisingly fun variation on their sound. I love s\*\*\* like this though honestly lol, at times it reminds me of Jon Hopkins at a Portishead bpm which I mean in the absolute best way
Father and Son
Absolutely insane song, also sounds incredible on good headphones
Father and Son
one of the most fun songs they've made lol, really dug it but my friends all HATE it
when that singing starts coming in on naraka
into the magic land sounds so whimsical im digging it
the stretch since naraka has been crazy good so far
