I couldn't imagine using woke as an unironic derogatory term when we're 32 days away from 2024
fr
like just be honest and say you don’t wanna watch black, brown and LGBT+ people. mfs need to stop hiding behind that f***ing word
nothing wrong with a message in your films
but when having a “message” is mandated from the higher ups of a fortune 500 company and not coming from the creatives that’s a problem

get used to it cause this election cycle is about to be a movie
the older ones are way better. new ones feel like theres a joke every other moment on some ghostbusters s***
I enjoyed Thor Ragnarok when it first came out because I was a kid, but the damage it did to blockbuster movies is unimaginable; I call it the Redditification of media. Because there was no reason to turn Thor, Loki, and Odin into these quip machines.
even if this is something thats probably true you shouldnt admit this to the public lol
imo there’s always a message to convey but there’s a balance
Remember when Disney bought fox and we thought it was over? Guess we were right
Disney movies been always about positive messages tho?
What people don’t like is the obvious pandering

Spent 70 billi just to flop in the end

Whatever they do, a real disney resurgence with old school 2d animation, or hybrid animations like Klaus would be great.
This guy is about to have a field day:
Who the hell is this, and WTF is that room
Who the hell is this, and WTF is that room
He's the exact person that the recent South Park episode makes fun of.
That's really all you need to know.
Disney saying they don’t wanna focus on putting positive messages into their movies is wild
First thing I thought
The message of a story is actually super important
It’s sort of what everything is based around, and helps the entertainment
The message doesn’t have to be positive
It should be consistent and respect the audience and be well-integrated into the story tho
It seems like people over a***yze anything and everything. Bro is saying “our movies have not been entertaining enough” - the other s*** was fluff to soften the blow and add a “scapegoat” as to why.
The movies suck. Period.
The problem is “entertaining” is a super ambiguous term that doesn’t mean much. The way this is worded makes it sound like they’re gonna add a bunch of fluff at the expense of story. Maybe it’s poor wording or a misquote tho.

Thank you, as someone who doesn't care about the woke/antiwoke arguments, I'd get weird side eyes when I said I wasn't going to these films.
They just looked bad.

Absolutely. I agree with you!
I see it as no movie will entertain everyone. But if a good idea is developed into a good story. Then told, acted, and captured well on camera, then you got a good movie that will on average make money.
Disney already has the audience wrapped around their finger. They do not even have to be firing on all cylinders to win most over (there are people who defend things like the rise of skywalker, lol). Who knows what Bob is thinking for sure - hell, I am sure he loved all the “message movies” when they were making money.
But now things are different and when you look back at that period of time the movies were just not very good, in my opinion.

“Bro, what you mean you don’t wanna come over and watch she hulk??? You hate women or what” loooool

Even Disney knows it's so over
Cause even the kids don’t care about these weak ass characters the youth wants badass s*** just like we did

i hate using these words too but it’s obvious to everyone that disney/MCU/Star wars are all trying to push this neoliberal formula out to a whole new generation of families who they thought would be more receptive to it. Especially with the live action remakes, those are made especially for kids of today who they thought could identify with these versions more
