It's not that I didn't like I,I it's just it felt like a poppier version of 22.
With all of his past releases I found myself drawn to a lot of the songs and felt like I was listening to some of the best chords and ideas ever put to music, I always felt like bon iver tapped into the secrets of music, but the last album just didnt click like that. None of the songs were that catchy or memorable.
I liked Naeem, Rabi, Hey Ma and iMi a lot but havent been back to them nearly as much as I was to Creeks/33 God etc.
I will say though all the videos were cool.

so many highlights on this album for me, so many little moments on each song that i love and still go back to.
your ranking is cool, for emma will forever be #1 set in stone. top 5 album oat for me personally.

i feel your list though
and yeah. he for sure tapped into some magic when he retreated to that cabin in the woods and there's definately a very raw quality and element to how most of the (just going off memory here) songs we're like him barebonely singing with a guitar for the most part and the crazy chord structures and layers of harmonies he came up with like Wolves and Woods (all by himself, no other band members plays a big part in that) and that song (i forget the name of ) which he is pausing to cry and compose himself in between takes
really feels 100% like you're experiencing the frostbit solitude of the desolate woods in his cabin with all but a single candle lit to keep you company as you brood over life
haven't listened to the whole i,i album front to back for like a month or two, but for me it felt like the essence and sounds of all his combined previous work just condensed a bit and channeled more rejoicingly and accepting, in a coming to terms with the self in a somber yet hopeful kinda way. and the songs you liked off it are some of my favs
the videos
the aeSTHETICS
the random sentence structures
sorry for writing a book

first time playing Hey Ma 13 minutes after it went live:
it was already a clear blue sunny skies type of day but i wasn't ready for the sky to illuminate in a blinding white shimmer of pure bliss I WAITED OUTSIDE
easily one of my fav Bon Iver songs
