The fABLE side of this album tells me that Brittany Howard x Justin Vernon would go crazy. He did remix a song of hers.
This music is for the hopers, the ‘it’s gonna be okay in the end’-ers, the bright siders etc
:vubedog:
I think THINGS BEHIND THINGS BEHIND THINGS is still my highlight here. Walk Home is a monster tho, gonna be playing that one a lot.
I'll Be There and There's a Rhythmn probably round out my top 3 off fABLE. Least favorites? I don't straight up dislike any of them, but Everything Is Peaceful Love is a lil annoying to me (lol, very sweet and uplifting song tho) and I haven't gotten my head around If Only I Could Wait yet.
One of the better produced albums of the year so far, but they always nail it there. I immediately like this more than i,i.

damn thats crazy. thats my favourite song on here. like you said very uplifting
Short story: ‘That January ain’t the whole world. And falling is really over shown. And you’re never really on your own’
There’s a rhythm: ‘maybe it’s the time to go, and leave the snow behind. For a land of palm and gold’
Love how this album really thematically feels like shedding the baggage of the entire bon iver narrative and mysticism. Perfect for positivity and trying in life and spring time

It's moreso the lyrics. Like whenever he writes those trippin, slippin, rippin, lippin type of lines they just never hit for me lol.
In contrast, "and I know that we may go and change someday, I couldn't rightly say, that's for parting days" is one of my favorite lyrics on the whole album.
And the bridge is nice. So I'm kinda halfway on it lol the melody definitely sticks to the brain tho
there's a rhythmn
there's a rhythmn
there's a rhythmn
there's a rhythmn
move on by the beat of your own drum my friends. you'll end up where you need to be.
what a record
absolutely gorgeous, was a bit bummed about the amount of singles on the fable side but the album cuts are incredible & the highlight for me
This album is so great
