I don't think his music is as perfect as everyone else (although 22 and For Emma are incredible) but I'm excited to see what he's got to show.

Hoping he comes through on this one.

It's not about perfection or anything, It's just that their music is bold and in this sanitized music landscape it just feels like a breath of fresh air.

I remember a story they told on a podcast about the scratching on iMi and how they were randomly playing with an old radio and they just decided, from that scratching alone, that it would be a good base to start a song and ended up giving us a fantastic one (which still doesn't make sense to me)

22 and For Emma are two of my favorite albums of all time, for some reason their other albums haven’t stuck with me. I should give them another listen

The album is actually titled "Sable,"

So I think it's fair to say another album will be dropping very soon after this (probably more experimental since this Sable, will be going back to his roors).

The name of this album will be NATION

That's not really a criticism. He doesn't have to make "perfect music" as if that's even a real thing.

It's just that people put him in a category above where I usually put him because I think self-titled is largely great but I don't care much for a lot of i,i. Dude makes solid stuff regardless. I love some of his stuff on Big Red Machine too.

And he actually gave Taylor songs that are worth a s***, I feel like this a huge performance in and of itself, it really takes some genius to do it if we're keeping it a buck

That imi radio they sampled was playing climax by Zedd, of all songs

    reddit.com/r/boniver/s/D22i8IV0rn

Someone recreated it and found the pieces here

I think they were tuning in and out of a radio playing it, while also turning the volume up and down, while also recording it in a big room and capturing the echo etc

I'd argue that was more Aaron Dessner than Vernon, but yes haha

Yeah that's exactly the things he told on the podcast, this is such an amazing thing, like how in a million year could a normal brain process that he heard that radio sound and turned it into iMi
