I think this is different from both, which i thought you indicated earlier in the thread too (a few months ago)
Cus this is an adaptation of a book that wasn't even out when this thread was made and i read Bong got the manuscript for the book in late 2021. Seems like WB/Plan B saw the film potential, got the rights and Bong wanted to go ahead with it. Maybe if it goes great Bong buys time to perfect what he had with those 2 projects and elevate the production/budgets of them when the time comes
Damn you right I forgot all about that English drama based on a true story.
So yea this might very well be a 3rd film.
pattinson been winning big past 3/4 years

a third of the way through reading this
tried finding out when this book was published and all google kept showing me was when the mickey mouse character was created but it turns out this was published earlier this year which was even more of a shock than it being written 100 years ago

Is the book good?
Is the book good?
I decided to read it on a whim and it's alright so far, though as I go along I'm definitely wondering what drew Bong to adapt this cause this book has a very cut and dried, regen, edge-of-tomorrow, off-world colony sci fi setting going on. I think the appeal of this story is the existential crisis of the main guy which is definitely the most interesting aspect of the story, for me at least

If the book itself is somewhat eh I could definitely see Bong Joon’s adaptation forming it into something less formulaic
Or at least I hope so
