Zero chance for that worldwide total, the first one hah a 50/50 domestic/international split at the boxoffice, this time around I can even see the film performing slightly better in America compared to rest of the world. It seems pretty front-loaded in some markets.

Plus Transformers this Friday. Don’t those typically do well internationally?

I’m not that surprised. Transformers doesn’t have the hype it used to. Spiderverse one of the best comic book movies of all time and has amazing word of mouth. Really liked both so I hope they do well.

I would say maybe if they released it sometime with less competition word of mouth might help it but it seems like Twitter has already made its mind up on it and letting a few scenes of wonky CGI ruin a whole movie to them.

That being said I still haven’t seen it myself so not sure how I’ll feel about it yet
