    Horror has become one of Hollywood’s biggest cash cows because of the profit margins. It’s low cost to make with high revenue potential. The lower budgets even play a part in the appeal

    I think China would be just fine without hollywood tbh but there is a lot of money Hollywood makes in the international markets, particularly China that would put a lot of new added pressures on studios. interesting proposition tho

    Hollywood relies more on China for sure. It was kind of like this in 2020/2021 when China was denying the release of a lot of films but didn't put an outright ban on them. Shang Chi was a whole ass MCU movie made for China that didn't get the clear to release over there and still did solid for a pandemic film

    But Avatar 3 ain't hitting the highs of the previous 2 without China that's for sure
