The first movie to hit $1 billion in the United States being a flagship hero of NY is so fitting. Like it was written in a plot line

    Mamdani is the Mayor too

    Coincidence? I think not...

I can’t stand that show but Melissa Benoist is kinda beloved as Supergirl tbh

Sony is mandated to generate Spider-Man films every few years or else the "use it or lose it" clause reverts rights back to Marvel. They rely on Spider-Man as their huge IP, whereas WB has other IP they dedicate resources to. They can't lose this and can't afford to f*** it up which also is why they correct course so well (ex. quick pivot from ASM2 to MCU; stopping the villain films)

When Raimi couldn't do SM4 by 2011 we had ASM1 by 2012. Not because of the love of the game its cus they contractually had to.

You can (and should) still properly critique WB here but this is context that explains why we literally have to get Spidey films. There's also an underlying argument for why their licensing arrangement has been more successful than anyone else merely owning IP. No property is as consistent the last 24 years

this is discounting the duds of the kraven, morbious, but yea
