They oversell their fighters a lot. I hate how matchroom and Hearn promote their fighters.

Its mostly their over-zealous and over-nationalistic fans that do the hyping. They make up dumb make-believe scenarios like "Joshua was a champion in 16 fights and it took Wilder over 30 fights." Sometimes it takes fighters from places like Mexico or Thailand over 30 fights just to make it out of their country so this literally means nothing. A lot of UK fans believe Tony Bellew is a world level fighter and some even think he's hall of fame level which is hilarious.

i dont blame the promoters, that's their job to to sell/ oversell their fighters.

Uk has some amazing fans, they are extremely loyal to their fighters. its a good thing cause their fan base has help keep boxing alive but it also can be a problem with overhyping fighters.

Almost every decent UK fighter is overhype by the fans. the networks too but then again that their job to do. sell us these fighters as world class athletes.

I was getting annoyed by Teofimo Lopez last night on ESPN. Lopez telling Davis, Garcia, Haney etc... all these guys need to earn shots at Lopez. lol

Lopez didnt earn his shot, Loma had no1 to fight and need a big fight. it was Loma who made that fight happen. if i remember correctly, Lopez wanted more money and Loma took a pay cut to make it work.

If Loma was able to get a Davis or Mikey fight, he probably would had taken it over Lopez.

I think what I really hate is how matchroom is trying to be like the UFC and Eddie Hearn wants to be Dana,seems like he shows his face way to much in the media compared to other promoters. I get they have to sell what they have but as a fan,it feels so lame to watch them overhype second rate fighters.

Loma couldn't get those fights because they didn't want them. What was stopping them from fighting Loma beating him and then fighting whoever the f*** they want?? Wilder and Joshua were not calling out Klitschko and they couldve probably fought him whenever they wanted, but the moment fury beat him now everyone all of the sudden wants to be the champion.

it doesnt change the fact Lopez earn nothing, he was just lucky to have the same promoter as Loma.

You make a good point. But it is what it is, you already know what it is these promoters ain't s***. I think we'll see those fights happen eventually, people are getting sick of watching elite fighter fight bums the casuals aren't that f***ing stupid believe it or not. They gotta give the people what they want at some point. In the long run I believe it would benefit most of them. What there doing now is backfiring on them, so I believe something has to give at some point.
