Awesome fight. Whoever came forward was winning. Big momentum swings. Unfortunately Mell looks super uncomfortable on the lead. Maybe he's insecure about gassing out. Easily discouraged from the mildest defense. He'd retreat back to the ropes and Castano can outwork him there. Felt like Castano deserved the nod just because Mell gave up clear rounds. Draw is a harmless result as both retain their titles and get another payday. Was rooting for Castano to win so him and Spence could fight for all the marbles.
Here are the viewer cards from Fight Score. 5 and 6 are basically swing rounds. A draw is technically fair though that 117-111 card will still piss everybody off.
I missed the fight, people saying it was a robbery, what yāall think? I only seen the highlights and s*** looked real back and forth, Iām mad i missed it

It was close.. I had Castano by a round or 2 but draw is fair. It was back and forth but a lot of people let their expectations play a big factor in their scoring. Everyone always talks about Charlo gettin rocked but Castano got rocked bad too..
Idk how boxing is still taken serious sometimes with the judging problems
Iāve seen bullshit MMA scorecards before too so I wouldnāt say that itās just judges be tweaking sometimes in combat sports
Castano very clearly won but he wasn't getting a decision in Texas.
I wouldnāt say he won clearly because he was getting beat the f*** up in the late rounds but if the fight was given to him I wouldnāt have complained Iām fine with a draw as long as thereās a rematch

Losing some rounds doesn't mean he lost.
Teo was getting owned in some rounds vs Loma and he still clearly won that fight too.
People keep saying it was so close and they don't know who won so a draw makes sense and I don't see it. Every scorecard I've seen has had Castano win except that 117-112 Charlo card
CastaƱo really did his homework. To only land 9 jabs thru 12 rounds and handle the fight the way he did is OD impressive
I been watching more and more Joe Joyce and I actually think he beats Whyte and has a good chance to beat Joshua and Wilder. Fury would be a style and size nightmare for him. He has a chin thatās as hard as diamonds, decent movement, he cuts off the ring very well, and his punches are very calculated. Also he seems to have very good stamina
Yooo what a WILD ass match š³š³š³ I didnāt even know this happened š¤Æ s*** was a real war and both CastaƱo and Derevyanchenko are dogs
think about this fight from time to time

Fury would see those slow punches coming from a mile away...
