NO EXCUSES. CANELO IS NOT THAT SKILLED STOP IT. He's one dimensional, time to relax on this man. Bro had no adjustments

Eating shots? He blocked mostly everything, that's why I said you can't hurt someone when he knows what's coming. Bivol wouldn't just let him walk him down in the early/mid rounds if he himself was the gigantic massive man, it had no factor imo. He started pushing him around later on in the fight when Canelo got frustrated and lost most of his steam and got tired. The biggest thing that played a part in this fight was the CONDITIONING of Bivol. He was fresh throughout the whole fight even when he fought most of the time on the back foot.

I’ll say that Bivols guard was impossible for Canelo to get through. I know eating shots just sounds like he was getting hit but taking it well but Canelo was throwing so hard trying to break that guard but couldn’t. Bivols footwork and ability to control the fight we’re major factors too.

And yes, conditioning was huge,if he was KO obsessed throughout that whole fight,it would’ve been a much different affair. He reserved his energy quite well by knowing how to pull back punches and not throwing stupid s***. So I recognize a great fighter in Bivol but he definitely overpowered Canelo at times imo.

Canelo is skilled, he just has bad matchups like everyone else.

Didnt say he's not skilled. The name of the game is BOXING and he loses to every skilled boxer. He's still one of the greatest ACHIEVEMENT WISE. But he's not what people make it out to be. He has no adjustments past that high guard and his set-ups. If he did he would have beat Bivol. He's still a beast though

I feel like he greatly overpowered him in the later rounds, I can see the weight being a factor, he controlled the later rounds extremely well. Canelo looked like a mini tank earlier in the fight then became a deflated tire

He’s adjusted in many fights before, Caleb plant, Lara, GGG but this fight was honestly way too much. The footwork and jab on display from Bivol is perfect you’re literally forced to just sit their and capitalize on BIVOL’s mistakes and if he doesn’t make any you lose. His range control + the jab to nullify your offense. Canelo could only counterpunch and hope for a KO, maybe get him tired with body shots but bivol footwork didn’t allow him to work. Canelo cut the ring off extremely well forcing Bivol to make some risky circling out but never capitalized because Bivol always had defense first. This was just unwinnable. Bivol fought perfect

    He was +400 so $500

Downplaying Canelo cause he lost to Bivol is crazy lmao Bivol is f***ing nice, has one of the best jabs and great lateral movement in boxing today. The only man who can probably beat him is one of the scariest punchers in boxing right now

It was kinda obvious that the gameplan Reynososo cooked up for Bivol was to seek and destroy and beat the door down till it opened, except Bivols defense was Fort Knox for Canelo. It’s surprising that Canelo didn’t work the body more then he did, just goes to show you that Canelo lost his focus and cool in that fight.

More body shots could’ve been a big difference but it’s hard to throw when your opponent is in and out of your distance and sticking a jab in your face all night.

F***,someone really lost $350K on Canelo lmao

Man did Bivol know how to use his distance and throw that jab from a safe distance, big difference maker. I think Bivol hit harder then what Canelo expected. I think it’s safe to say that Canelo was kept in check by Bivols punching power,if Bivol didn’t have danger In his hands,Canelo would’ve worked that body way more.

Bivol kept Canelo honest in some form.

Maybe the quality of opponents isn't all the way there but other than that there wouldn't be many arguments against him imo.

GGG won both fights, the 2nd was closer to a draw than a canelo win

felt like canelo thought he could bully him with his power but the arm shots didnt faze bivol at all

Top 10 P4P he doesn’t belong imo, the winner of Haney vs Kambosos will be the next addition

My whole point is that canelo is a great fighter, but he’s not the second coming the way he’s been hyped up to be. Lost to GGG, kovalev and plant had that same jab heavy style but were too timid.

Ok but you said it best, when was the last time canelo won from actually outboxing opponents? Past those, counter hooks, canelo has no other levels to his game. Its boxing not mma, that wont fly forever. He fell in love with his one-hitter counters and active high guard that only worked on mid western euro fighters that are defeated before the fight. Canelo barely showed a jab this fight.
