Braids. They look cleaner and neater than dreads but also much more stressful to carry.

More stressful? I think they’re less stressful. Locs have so much maintenance involved.

I had braids for 17 years. Then transitioned to locs last Spring.

Ive had both and I like the dreads way more. A lot easier to do self maintenance and they can be easily styled in different ways without having to get your hair re braided completely.

early on dreads got a lot of maintainence, and then get chill, braids you gotta redo all the time

I got braids but that’s really only because my hair won’t lock

Dreads are cheaper to deal with because you don’t have to get a retwist often

With braids you probably gonna have to get a rebraid every 3 weeks at least so it’s a bit more expensive over time than dreads

But with braids you can take em out any time

What's wrong with crotchet locs? Had mine since 2016 and I think they look good, other than the frizzy hairs which I think happens with freeform dreads too
