I could see there is some confusion on this site.

There are three major labels : Sony , Warner (WMG) and Universal (UMG)
These major labels are all in competition for market share , radio spots , charts etc.
There are imprints (smaller labels) underneath all these labels which makes them easier to run.

Drake has a 400m record deal on Republic (UMG). Drake got a lot of money in exchange for the label having some control in the type of songs that come out, how often he releases and his image.
Taylor Swift , Weeknd and Metro are all on Republic (UMG) too, this is how 'Like That' was blocked on radio as Drake has higher priority over Metro in the Republic office.

Kendrick has a licensing deal with Interscope (UMG). Interscope get a percentage of Kendrick's earning's to promote his music, but they have a lot less control on his output and Kendrick either got no or a relatively little advance compared to Drake's 400 Million.

PG Lang , TDE, OVO Sound even Gamma are all independent production companies. None are involved with these releases so are largely irrelevent beyond being side characters.

This is an inhouse UMG issue which is why UMG are doing clean up. However the problem is Kendrick doesn't have to listen.

No Drake doesn't own anyone's masters. No this won't affect Baby Keem.

For more context Ye is completely independent. Baby Keem is Columbia/Sony. SZA is RCA/Sony. TDE isn't involved in Kendrick's label anyway the same way Wayne and Birdman aren't involved in Drakes. Drake and Kendrick both streamlined their deals over the last few years.

I want to mention that just because TMZ put out a statement that UMG aren't getting themselves involved, knowing how labels move they for sure are. I'm not sure if they're telling Kendrick to stop or just doing clean up on social media or what but to think they're letting this happen is very naive. You are going to try and protect a 400m asset as much as you can.
