Can’t even fathom how someone could do this. Cases like these always make me curious about the nature of evil. How many people out there could really do something like this without some sort of extreme mental illness? And even if this woman was extremely mentally ill, she’d never have people’s sympathy because of the nature of her crime. It makes you wonder, if somebody does something like this as a result of a psychiatric issue, how much blame can be placed on them? Should people like this be put in mental institutions, or is it more beneficial to society to make examples of them? Most people crave retribution, so it’s hard to ever have a genuine conversation about this, but it is interesting to think about.
