This might be my favourite album of him. Larger than life was also one of my fav of him. I just like his albums as beat tapes of a specific era of music. For me this is his Babyface album. I think with icon he went further with the concept. I don't really need brent to be deep or give me more of himself. I just see him as avatar to express what I want to feel for someone or how I felt about a situation in a certain sound that I love.

this has been me the whole year with somebody loves me from $$$4u, i’ll be sad when I ruin the song

Im not an expert so i dont have the proper vocalbulary
But his voice feels flat or even off key when hitting certain notes.

Now this might be just his style or whatever. But i think its the result of him actually taking chances on here singing wise. Which is why i respect it and dont necessarily mean it as a negative. Id rather him sound a bit off then hear monotone low vibrational singing
