tupacartiand i'm not talking music wise (although he is in that category too). There hasn't been an artist to get this big while independent since XXX or Chance (R.I.P. his career). I think Brent will motivate other artists to not sign in the future, much like Master P did to him.
also his popularity is another piece of evidence to show how strong TikTok can be.
sidenote: really unbelievable that him and his manager went to every label, and they wouldn't give him at least 150k for an advance and 18% of royalties, but somebody like Summrs is able to get 500k (not knocking summrs, but Brent is an undeniable talent).

that's not "beating the industry bro"; why are labels so bad? because they take artists masters. If apple says aight keep ya masters but Imma do the same thing as a label... that isn't truly independent cuz he aint funding himself with his own bread.

mr ramrodI like some of his older stuff but his music is pretty derivative. I don't think he's any better than Daniel Caesar, DVSN, or Lucky Daye.
U can add 6lack to that list.. they’re pretty interchangeable to me🤷🏾♂️ ..I ducks with DVSN and Gallant more, but Brent got a few heaters and he’s definitely talented.
