Why does the cast read like a who's who of Hollywood around 2006?

The original is so weird, will they keep the hysterical Irish old maid that keeps fainting every other scene?

her debut 'The Lost Daughter' was a real good time, I watched it twice. great olivia coleman performance and even utilized Dakota Johnson's deadpan delivery to the film's advantage. film also had Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley and Ed Harris. s*** was stacked.

I need to rewatch, it didn’t fully click with me but I was lowkey half watching it. that movie’s based on a book by Elena Ferrante who also wrote the books the for the HBO show My Brilliant Friend.
