Them Zaytoven, Plug/MexikoDro, “Suge”-esque 808s gotta go. Those glorified kicks on steroids are never mixed properly and, while it’s clearly a stylistic choice, I’ve had it up to here with them. It’s time to return to crisp, sustaining, rumbling 808s. If (big “if”) I wanted my 808s to sound like those door stops, I would’ve been pretty clear about it, but I don’t and I wasn’t. I’m hoping them Zaytoven, Plug/MexikoDro, “Suge”-esque 808s become ancient relics in the year two thousand and twenty one!
You mean like back in the day where the 808s was just a regular bassline? no key switches
Ok I will
Thanks. Them Zaytoven, Plug/MexikoDro, “Suge”-esque 808s (or “door stop” 808s) have had their moment in the sun.
And do ya like a sliding 808 OP?
Yes. I believe them to be a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale landscape polluted by Zaytoven, Plug/MexikoDro, “Suge”-esque production.
We Need To Stop The "Zaytoven, Plug/MexikoDro, Suge-esque 808s".

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq_fZZpg93YI’m playing this on my phone speakers, but is there even 808s in it? Or just muffled kicks?

Nah this the throwback style back in the 2000s
No actually
Things should go how they go
Example?
While it’s a fantastic record, I can’t help but wonder how much crisp, sustaining, rumbling 808s would benefit it instead.

I'm more concerned on how Future looks so different in this video

Ah, before they figured out how ferocious songs could be by simply raising the volume of drums. That being said, I’m still a sucker for that era of production.
those 808s sound good if they're mixed right.
A lot these days have mixing and messes the track up, Like DaBaby's no Dribble. Tew much bass, distorting the whole track

I blame SoundCloud-centric artists for this trend. It’s aggressively apparent they had zero interest in finding and/or budget to find proper engineering for their work. I also suspect that generation’s (my generation’s) infatuation with bass-boosted versions of songs played a pivotal role.
