Being a weirdo is not "cool"
Embracing disorder and deviation from the norm for the sake of it is not "cool"
People have gotten comfortable with interjecting the most cursory & crude ideas because they know they won't be chastised for it. They'll do everything with their chest because nobody will call them out.
All this hand-holding and "there's no such thing as a stupid question" mentality has led to this.
You will be wrong, you are not invincible, you will be unhappy in your life and that's something that you just have to deal with. There's no way around it, no matter how many verbal and mental gymnastics you employ.
When did somebody tell the ADHD/high functioning autism kids that their behavior should be glorified on the Internet?
Bring back bullying, shame, feelings of being outcast, awkward silences, and being excluded from an ingroup.
Most people forget that these ever existed when they're given a platform. These are necessary evils and promote order. Running from them is futile and crying about them won't do anything.
Rip to the weirdoes & the b****es burn in hell
Not sure about the bullying part but I think that properly addressing and correcting behaviors in a respectable way should be the focus instead of allowing for cope and the normalization of negative things as if they're just pieces of a personality.
op doesnβt know how to be the funny weirdo
That's a learned concept, not inherent.
Guess what it's rooted in: the exact stuff stated in OP.
Making your idiosyncrasies appeal to social groups is not something that's done without effort and mistakes
It takes work that nobody is willing to put in anymore and failure that nobody is willing to accept anymore
op a snowflake ass b****, delete your account cracker
Sounds like an emotionally charged assumption to me
just let ppl do them and keep your mind out their business. life will get alot better

Making commentary based on observation has nothing to do with the agency of other people's decisions and actions.
Assuming that somebody leads a bitter and miserable life because they choose to speak negatively about something is the prime finger-point go-to

Those who claim theyβre proud of having autism or think itβs a superpower are just coping tbh

ngl kinda true tbh but no one wants to admit it because weβre all soft parenting our kids

I'm speaking from the perspective of a neurodivergent minority who experienced everything in OP to the fullest extent throughout childhood and adolescence
Looking at the climate now, I am so incredibly glad I did
Being a weirdo is cool but itβs levels. Thereβs nothing wrong with being odd and thereβs no such thing as a stupid genuine question lol.

Agreed
Was describing a specific mentality more than anything

Also Iβm sick and tired of those who continuously glorify mental illnesses and base their personality around it. In fact, itβs quite insulting to people like me who gotta suffer through the obstacles my conditions bring, and has only hindered my quality of life.
Bullying others for being different isnβt right either, but people should try to find a middle ground to treating others normally and not like a school prop.
