Honestly if you make your own melodies or you can chop samples really well i consider you talented. Most producer nowadays are talented but they are in the studio with a rapper 24/7 which is why they use premade loops nowadays. Trust me i don't think Thug would wait for wheezy all day to make a beat from scratch.

U can make s*** from scratch but u cant really force that, sometimes u just need time to come up with s*** and using loops when in studio with rappers is def more efficient but after that its on the producer to not make it extra simple and generic, even with u loops u can get creative and make some good s***

neonI always download the newest popular drum kits and so many of the 808s have kicks built into the start of the 808s now lol, I mean that use to happen sometimes but its so common now
yeah its wild looking at mustard & trap that was popping last decade which was already dumb simple and then listening to this stuff which is even simpler
I'm a big fan of the percussion being used on these tik tok songs, I love melody in the percussion but at the same time yeah the lack of any real melody (instruments or chords) and the annoying super busy 808 turns me off
you know s*** is f***ed up when mustard is actually lowkey one of the more engaging beatmakers these days

As both a producer and a music enthusiast, I couldn’t agree more.
High pitch 808s are lame as f***, finna be outta here in a year. This is a fad, and a bad one at that.
