It’s was a business decision partially in my opinion.

Drake singing in a higher register and rapping using the yell flow or just a more energetic flow is tiring when you gotta Perform over 200 times a year.

Drake singing in a lower register and rapping in a more subdued tone is easier and lighter on the vocal chords performance wise and he can interact with the crowd and dance and jump around more.

Old Drake for anybody that been to show will know he gave great performance but didn’t dance or interact with the crowd as much because it’s was prolly more vocally draining.

New Drake interacts with the crowd and dance jumps around talks more but Sings in a lower tone and raps in a lower tone with less energy.

I think this also influences how he does a song in the studio now because he thinking about having to perform that song over and over and saying to himself less energy = more crowd engagement or more energy = less crowd engagement and possibly vocal chord strain that has happened to every superstar big or small had to stop or cancel shows in they career for this reason.

It’s a hard balance when you as big as Drake and everyone depending on a pay check off your name but does the art and music suffer from these decisions?
