No it's moreso that it makes no sense to do since a majority of artists' core fanbase are not on Soundcloud anymore, and likely don't pay for YouTube premium that will allow them to listen uninterrupted.

The artists will also make even less money since they are not pulling the same listeners/streams because again, most of their fanbase is using DSPs these days. On top of that, YouTube's automated copyright system gets tracks using samples out the paint faster than before. So if the mixtape isn't outright removed, it gets delisted/blacklisted making it harder to find. Especially if its not pulling enough daily viewers.

There's really only a handful of artists who can do something like this and get people to go out of their way to listen, and these days Bryson Tiller is nowhere close to that anymore. If it's for the love of the music and just wanting to rap over Dilla beats or knock-off Dilla beats sure go for it. But that don't really mean much if ain't nobody listening to it...or again, it eventually gets taken off Youtube or Soundcloud.

I'm not so surprised, bro just fumbled under the fame and never recovered, Trapsoul was just too big, I like like 3-4 songs on True to Self and Anniversary was my favorite album of the pandemic to listen but bro was never made for this
